So far “Callings” by Dave Isay is going really good I enjoy the many different stories. Reading about some very extraordinary peoples struggles that they go through and how they overcome them despite the odds. The book is also split up into small very manageable sections that allow the readers to not feel overwhelmed. The book also has very relevant in that many of the stories are relatable, talking about everyday people. There is a sense of inspiration throughout the book all of the characters achieving there dreams.
The profile that I found most interesting was the one that talked about the father and son who were both firefighters. Dekalb Jr was a firefighter who inspired his son Dekalb the III to follow in his footsteps. I found it very inspiring that his son looked up to him so much and in such a way that he to wanted to live the same life as his father before him. When Dekalb the III said to his dad that “you were my Michael Jordan” I found that very inspiring that he looked up to his father in such a way as he would look up t o famous people.
I feel that Ohio is a good state to live in because it's right in the middle of the country and sees all four seasons. Ohio is also a fairly moderate state in meaning that there is a place for everyone. The state is split between conservatives and liberals, while at the same time rather peaceful. Ohio is also home to many theme parks and water parks, such as Cider Point the largest roller coaster park in the country. Ohio is also home to some very nice beaches along lake Eire. With all of this said if money was no object I would live in America Samoa, one of the us Territories.

  1. I like your description of Ohio, explaining the weather and attractions down to the political differences we have here. It shows a great outside look for people who do not live here.
