Snapshot Four: Music & using Flashbacks for Evidence

I use to listen to all different kinds of genres of music. As I grew up rap music began to be my favorite music. I like rap music because it always just gets me hyped. It's usually upbeat and the rapper is talking fast. I don't really like any other genre of music now because I’m just stuck on rap music now. My mom also listens to rap music so when I'm with her she listens to my favorite songs with me.
Lil Yachty is one of my favorite rappers. He has became really popular in 2016 with my age group. He makes teenagers dance like chickens with their heads cut of.
What I really like about Lil Yachty is that his songs are really catchy and fun even if they don't make sense. In most of his music you never really understand why he's rapping about that but you can't help but sing along because the beat. I also went to go see him in concert recently on October 24 and I had such a fun time. That was actually the most fun I have ever had at a concert before.
When I was younger, my favorite thing was to go to the skating rink with friends. I went there every weekend, Friday and Saturday. There was this kind of skating you could do called “boogie skate.” It was when people could skate to the beat but it was kind of difficult. Not a lot of people could do it. You had to do something different with your feet and some people would even throw in tricks in between. One time I was boogie skating with my old friend Sarah and Lucas. It was to the song, Regulate by Warren G. We did so good Boogie skating to that song. But that was the last time we all boogie skated together, unfortunately. My friend Lucas passed away a few days later. That song has been so important to me  ever since because that was the last time I had fun with Lucas. Still until this day when I hear the song, that memory pops up in my head. I’ll never forget that day.

Warren G is the one that made the song Regulators. This song brings back good memories with my friend Lucas who has passed away.

  1. I'm sorry about your friend. I like how in your flashback you told about a good memory that you had with your friend who passed.

  2. I really like the metaphor you used to describe how teens dance to rap music, "He makes teenagers dance like chickens with their heads cut of". I can relate to this really well because I listen to rap too.
